About Me

I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering (“AE”) from Calpoly, San Luis Obispo, later earning a Master’s degree in AE from Stanford University.  I joined NASA at its Ames Research Center in Moffett Field California.  I worked at NASA  for 32 years. During my tenure, I managed scores of engineers, scientists and staff as well as project budgets from $8 million/year to $50 million/year. Much of my work focused on the modernization of the FAA’s air traffic control systems. NASA awarded me on multiple occasions for both my technical and leadership acumen, including 3 NASA medals for “Outstanding Leadership", “Exceptional Technology Achievement", snd “Exceptional Service.”

 Since retiring in 2014, Mary Jane and I have been active in the community with social and service organizations.  I currently serve on the TRPA Advisory Planning Commission. I am a board member of the Tahoe Incline Golf Club and served on the IVGID Golf Advisory Board.  We also love volunteering at the Incline Elementary School in the “Read with Me” program, and at the Veteran’s annual 4th of July picnic. It’s also not uncommon for folks to see us walking along our roads picking up trash to help keep the community clean.  I also am a member of St. Francis of Assisi’s Knights of Columbus fraternal service organization. For the last few years, I have participated in our Senior Conversation Café where participants provide unvarnished views on the issues and challenges within our community.

I strive for excellence and try to find ways to give back to our fabulous community. Having learned of and delved into the poor past management practices at IVGID—and complaining about them myself—and  at the urging of many of my neighbors, I decided to run for Trustee and leverage my financial oversight and management skills to help our community grow and thrive.  I also wish to restore the trust of our community in how our resources are being managed.
